Major League Baseball- World Series Game 5

Mets Vs Royals. Royals could walk away with a brand new sparkling trophy after the game or the Mets could cause it to go to game 6 in Kansas City. Edinson Volquez Vs Matt Harvey, a replay of Game 1.
The game started off differently than it did in game 1. In game the first pitch started off with an inside the park home run by Escobar, but this game started off with three quick outs, everyone knew it would be a different game. Harvey had two strike outs in the first inning to solidify that the game would be different. It was also different for Volquez, for the first batter of the game, he had given up a home run to Granderson for the Mets to take the lead in the first inning.
Then nothing but silence from both teams until the bottom of the 6th inning. Only two hits collectively by the two teams had happened since the end of the first inning. Harvey dominated the mound with 8 strike outs up until the end of the 6th inning, that is 8 of 18 outs were strike outs. In the bottom of the 6th the Mets starting coming back into the game. Walks, hits, and errors were the story of the bottom of the 6th for the Royals. The Mets had only gotten one run in this inning after having bases loaded with no outs. They were now up 2-0 at the end of the 6th.
It is still 2-0 going into the top of the 9th, Harvey is dominate still, just a few hits have been given up. The Mets plan on bringing in their closer Familia for the final inning, and Harvey is having none of that. He had gotten off the bench and went to the manager and proclaimed that this game was his to finish, so the manager left him in. The first batter was a walk by Harvey to Cain, then Cain stole second base, their is now a runner is scoring position. Hosmer hit a double into deep center to score Cain, and now Hosmer is in scoring position. They had no choice but to put Familia in the game, although he has had a poor World Series. Familia has two blown saves coming into game 5, that means 2 of the 3 games the royals won were given up by Familia. So they put him in and then soon after he had given up another run. The score is 2-2 at the end of the top half of the 9th, Famila now has three blown games in the World Series.
Nothing had happened until the 12th inning. Reed came in to pitch for the Mets, and the Royals made him pay. Walks, hits, and stolen bases was the story for this inning. Long story short, the Royals scored 5 runs off 4 hits. It is now 7-2 and the Mets have little to no hope to come back in this game. The Mets did not come back, the game ended with a strike out looking, just like they watched the Royals walk all over them. It has been 30 years in the making, but the Royals did it, they are World Series Champions.

Major League Baseball- World Series Game 4

Game 4 of the World Series means either the Royals go ahead of the series 3-1 or the Mets bring the series back 2-2. The starting pitchers consisted of the lesser known of the four starting pitchers for the Mets, Steven Matz Vs Chris Young of the Royals. Both pitchers are very good in their line of work, only advantage, Matz has experience batting.
Young had only pitched four innings with two earned runs and only two hits, but the Royals wanted Kendrys Morales to pinch-hit for the less experienced hitter. Matz had pitched five innings with two earned runs and seven hits.
Royals were down 3-1 at the end of the fifth inning with no hope that they would score any more against the stud Matz. But then hope was on their side, the Mets replaced Matz with Johnathon Niese. The Royals have a history of hitting the relieve pitchers when they are unable to hit the starting pitcher. Which they did just that against the Mets, after replacing Matz with a plethora of relieve pitchers, the Royals had scored 4 runs to take their run total to 5 to the Mets 3. The Mets were just unable to come back from that.
Madson had gotten the win for the Royals and Clippard had gotten the loss for the Mets. Royals had 9 hits and 5 runs, while the Mets had 3 runs from 6 hits. The Royals take the lead farther in the series 3-1. Just one more win by the Royals and they can finally call the crown theirs.

Major League Baseball- World series game 3

The Royals and Mets battle for game 3 with the Royals are up 2-0 in the series. Syndergaard V Ventura, who will walk out with a win? Will the Royals go into game three with a 3-0 lead? Or will the Mets make it only 2-1? Only one way to find out, sit back and watch. Today I am going to move away from my average Blog. I am going to give an inning by inning report of the game.
In the first inning Zobrist hits a double to center field, then Cain drives him to third base. Hosmer comes up to bat and forces the Mets to do a fielder’s choice, therefore Zobrist scores, 1-0 Royals.  In the latter half of the inning, Granderson has an infield hit to deep shortstop. David Wright comes up to bat and makes the big apple rise in Citi Field, two run homerun, now 2-1 Mets.
The second inning started off with a leadoff single by Perez, then Gordon hits him over to second with another hit. Rios hits a double into left field and scores Perez, and Gordon gets thrown out trying to get to third. Ventura hits a sac bunt, Rios gets to third. Wild Pitch by Syndergaard causes Rios scores. Escobar hits a single into center field. Escobar steals second base. Royals are now up 3-2, this is already an electric game. The bottom of the 2nd is here, and three quick outs for Ventura.
Syndergaard gets a quick three out for the Mets, are the pitchers finally getting their groove? Syndergaard gets a single to start off the bottom of the 3rd. Granderson hits a two run home run to right field, Mets are up 4-3.
In the fourth inning Syndergaard makes it a quick inning and gets a 1,2,3 inning. With the Mets up to bat, Duda starts off the inning with a single to left field. After, d’Arnaud hits a double along the left field foul line and hits Duda to third. Conforto gets an infield single and scores Duda and advances d’Arnaud to third. Royals switch out pitchers from Ventura to Danny Duffy. Duffy gets them out of the inning, Mets are winning 5-3.
Syndergaard makes yet another quick inning of the Royals, 3 up 3 down, in the top of the 5th. Hochevar comes in for Duffy for the Royals. Cespedes hits a single to center field with two outs. Hochevar strikes out for the third out in the 5th.
The 6th inning is up and the Royals get a hit by Moustakas to the second followed by a walk to Perez and moves to second. Gordon gets a walk too, everyone advances. Syndergaard prevails and gets Rios to ground out to shortstop. Morales replaces Hochevar for pitching for the royals. Lagares hits a single to left field. Flores gets hit by pitch, Lagares advances to second. Uribe hits a single to right field and Lagares scores, Flores gets to third. Granderson hits to Morales, has a throwing error to second, bases loaded. Herrera comes in to pitch for the Royals, immediately gives up a hit to center field to Wright. Uribe and Granderson score, it is now 8-3 with the Mets still at bat. Herrera gives up a walk to Murphy, bases are re-loaded with only one out. Cespedes hits a sac fly to right field and Granderson scores. Herrera Strikes out Duda for out number 3, Mets are up 9-3 at the end of 6.
For the 7th inning, Reed comes in for Syndergaard to pitch for the Mets. Starts off great by having Orlando pop-out to center field. Then having Escobar pop out to first base in foul territory, and after that having Zobrist ground out to first base, 3 up and 3 down, again. Madson comes in to pitch for the Royals, d’Arnaud singles to right field for the Mets to start off the inning. Lagares flies out to right field for the first out. Flores grounds to third and gets d’Arnaud out at second. Madson ends the inning with a strike out.
In the 8th inning, Clippard comes in to pitch for the Mets, Cain flies out to left field. Then right after, Hosmer flies out to center field. Then Moustakas flies out to Clippard for the third out. Medlen comes in to pitch for the Royals, and gets Granderson out for the first out. And then struck out the final two at bats for the inning.
The 9th inning comes around and the Royals need to score quite a few runs. Familia is pitching in the final inning for the Mets. Perez grounded out to shortstop for the first out. Familia strikes out Gordon for the second out. Morales ground out to third base for the final out.

The Mets win game 3, they dominated in hitting and in pitching. They deserve this win. Props to the Mets they win 9-3 and the series is 2-1.

Major League Baseball- World Series Game 2

Royals are ahead in the series 1-0 right now. For game two the match-up is Cueto V deGrom. Cueto is unstable when it comes to pitching, sometimes he is on, sometimes not so much. deGrom, on the other hand, is always on.
The first three innings of the game were silent, no runs to speak of. Daniel Murphy gets to second base off of a hit, then Duda hits him home of a single to left field. Mets are up 1-0 in the top of the 4th. The Royals don't retaliate until the 5th inning. In the bottom of the 5th the Royals open it up, Escobar hits a drive into center and scores Gordon then Rios goes to second base. Hosmer then singles to center field and scores Escobar and Rios. Even after all of this, Moustakas hits a single to right field and scores Hosmer, Royals are winning 4-1 after the 5th.
Silence until the 8th inning, Gordon hits a double to left field and scored Moustakas and gets Perez to 3rd. Paulo Orlando hits a sac fly to left field and Perez scores. Gordon gets on a base again, and then Escobar hits a triple and scores Gordon. Royals are up 7-1 at the end of the 8th inning and the game. Cueto, the Royals pitcher had thrown a complete game, and having just two hits and one earned run. Phenomenal pitching by the Royals, which leads to a Royals victory, they're now winning the series 2-0 over the Mets.

Cueto showing his excitement after Game 2.

Major League Baseball- World Series

The Royals and Mets are the final two teams remaining. Royals have the experience of being in the World Series after losing to the Giants last year. While the last time the Mets won the World Series was in 1986, and the Royals was in 1985. The two face off for the pennant, who will walk away with it?
The Mets unbelievable starting pitchers start the series off by pitching Matt Harvey. While the Royals start off with Edinson Volquez, which his father had died before the game, and they neglected to tell him. Both pitchers are one of the best in the game, but in the end it comes down to the hitting for the teams to come out on top.
The Royals First batter of the game, Alcides Escobar hits an inside-the-park home run to bring the Royals up 1-0. The center fielder missed the pop-fly, and then kicked the ball so Alcides had ample time to make it around the bases. Volquez had three innings where the Mets didn't score any runs. Then comes the fourth inning, Murphy got on base to lead off the inning, then the rest of the team hit him home so now it is 1-1 in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning Granderson hit a home run to right field which brings the lead to 2-1 for the Mets. The 6th inning comes around and the Mets are at it again, they got a few more hits together and scored another run to bring the lead to 3-1.
The Royals need to get back into the game at this point, it is now the bottom of the 6th inning with only a few at bats remaining in the game and they are down by two. Then the Royals brought there game out. It starts off with Zobrist hitting a double, and then a few more hits comes together and Zobrist scores. While Cain advances with Zobrist and then gets hit in on the next at bat, the score is now 3-3.
Nothing happens until the 8th inning. The Mets scored by an error on Hosmer, which has one error all post season. The Mets score off the error, and then gets the lead from 4-3. Almost all hope is lost for the Royals, bottom of the ninth and no hit in sight for the Royals. Then Alex Gordon gets up to bat, and hits a home run to dead center field to tie it up 4-4 and send the game to extra innings.
The game lasts for 14 innings, no runs scored. Until the 14th, Escobar gets on base by an error, Zobrist gets a hit to right field, then Hosmer hits a sacrifice fly to score Escobar. Royals win game 1.

Major League Baseball- Post 5

This week has been filled with surprises and upsets that has left the nation shocked. First the Cubs fly the W all the way to the National League Championship. The Jays fought there way all the way into the American League Championship. While the Royals won the last two of the series to claim there spot in the American League Championship. And the Dodgers and Mets deuce it out in game five to claim there spot to face the red hot Cubs.
The Cubs shocked the baseball community when they beat the only team in baseball with 100 wins under their belt- the Cardinals. The cubs take over the NLDS with a four game win over the Cardinals, which made the Cubs fans come out of there basements wearing their Cubs hat that has a cover of dust on it, due to it not being warn in years. The Cubs will play the winner of the Dodgers and Mets, both of which will not be easy.
The Blue Jays and Rangers had the most exciting inning of baseball that has ever been played. Fans going crazy throwing beer cans on the field, two fights in one inning, and bat flips that goes 15 feet. Lets examine this a bit closer, there was a play that was controversial that the umpires didn't know what to do, and the fans went nuts. Tensions were so high after that, the benches cleared twice in one inning. And Jose Bautista cranking a massive home run in the same inning, and doing a beautiful bat flip that goes 15 feet. The Blue Jays came back from a small deficit against the Rangers, and won the series.
The Royals playing against the Astros has been a back and forth series since the beginning. The Royals had been struggling hitting the whole series. While down by two runs, the Royals got into a rally and won 7-2. They are going to the ALCS for the second year in a two years.
The Royals will play the Blue Jays to play for the American League Championship. While the Cubs will play the winner of the Mets/Dodgers. It'll be a wild ride, sit back, watch, and enjoy.
